The Woodbury Registrars of Voters will be conducting a hand recount of Thursday's budget vote at 9 a.m. Monday in the Senior Community Center activity room.
The recount, prompted by Thursday's 317-317 tie, will be open to the public.
The surprising referendum results are the first tie in institutional memory, according to Democratic Registrar of Voters Anne Cushman Schwaikert, who noted that a number of persons in Town Hall have been there for some time and never seen a tied budget vote.
If the recount validates the tie or results in the budget failing, a second referendum will have to be held in the coming weeks.
