Film Scam Accomplice Pleads Guilty in Vermont
Alleged accomplice Mac Parker said he helped Middlebury chiropractor Louis Soteriou bilk investors out of $28 million.
A Vermont storyteller pleaded guilty this week to charges accusing him and a Middlebury chiropractor, , of scamming investors in a $28 million project to produce a documentary film entitled "Birth of Innocence."
The Burlington Free Press, a Vermont newspaper, reported that Malcolm "Mac" Parker pleaded guilty in federal court, admitting that he helped the chiropractor, Louis Soteriou, raise about $28 million for the film project.

After nine years, the film has yet to be produced, and prosecutors say Soteriou used about $3.8 million of the money for his own personal purposes.
The newspaper quoted court documents that said Soteriou told Parker if he used the money to attain a "higher consciousness," he would be able to predict lottery numbers and that would make them both rich.
