In the 90's, I was ranked # 1 in the USA for marketing this business and for donations of Dollhouses to the Cancer Society and many other organizations. My students and I won many awards from the State Board Of Education for our Dollhouse donations, and I wrote a curriculum called "Victorian Delights", a Dollhouse project for the Cancer Society and we won the Celebration of Excellent Award. That curriculum got published nation wide to High Schools all over the country. We did that project for the Cancer Society for nine more years in a row until I retired in 1999, we could not win any more awards for the same project, but are students didn't care about any more awards, they just wanted to help raise money for the Cancer Society. Every student that worked on this project for nine years, had someone in their family that had cancer. The "Dollhouse Hobby" is such a wonderful experience for any family, communication skills are learned, parents get to sit down with their children and talk about the work on the dollhouse and even bring in topics like what is happening in school and with friends. Dollhouses spark the imagination of children and develops creativity.
