The Glebe House Museum and The Gertrude Jekyll Garden, a non-profit, educational institution, located on one of the most historic streets in Woodbury, CT includes a 1750 historic house museum and beautiful landscape surrounding it that has been welcoming visitors for 88 years.  Offering a glimpse of life in Revolutionary War-era Connecticut our colonial past is heightened by the museum's architecture, period furnishings, and the life of the Marshall family who lived here from 1771-1786.  The Glebe House was restored in 1923 under the direction of Henry W. Kent, pioneer of early American decorative arts at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.  One of the earliest historic house museums in the country, the Glebe House opened its doors to the public in 1925.

The Gertrude Jekyll Garden was designed by the greatest artist in horticulture and garden planning of the 20th century and is the only remaining examples of her work in the United States today. The garden is open during daylight hours for self guided tours and the museum is open Wednesday through Sunday from 1-4 pm May through October and for group tours throughout the year.
