Perhaps this was all meant as a horribly misguided homage to Vincent van Gogh. In the days to come,Read More we may read of a lucky lady—or gent—receiving a parcel containing the rapper’s severed appendage and a note inscribed with the words: “Take it, it will be useful.”

I fail to see what this guy's race or politicial affiliation has to do with what he did. He looksRead More white to me (so the "third-world" comment doesn't make sense), and the "Obozocare" comment is absolutely ridiculous. You can blame the video games, but this guy had an underlying reason for what he did. You have to have a lot of patience to deal with a baby. They cry. They screw up your life if you really haven't grown up. I was appalled that he is being charged with third-degree murder, but I don't think he meant to kill his son. He just wasn't mature enough to be a father.
tamarya April 19, 2014 at 12:33 pm
Well pam that is where i was getting with my comment. Time people grow the hell up! There is noRead More reason a 24 yr old MAN should be too immature to raise a baby. Start teaching these young adults to be young adults, not 2 yr old babies. In high school is where it can start.

I think we may have missed the most important aspect to take away from this article, and thatRead More is.... Strive to be the CEO, do all you can to the best of your ability. Be the first one in last one out everyday. Take on the responsibilities that no one else is willing to. If you aren't willing to do all these things, then maybe you won't be a millionaire CEO, and that's OK just don't begrudge hard work and earnings because it didn't get handed to them. They were willing to do things along the way perhaps someone else wasn't willing to do, and hey...maybe they got lucky too.

@Jim...With all respect, if you are being paid with bread, I suggest you leave the bakery; if yourRead More child is not getting the education he/she needs, I suggest getting more involved; if you wondering why outsourcing continues, look no further than your local union, they want more for doing less; if you feel like your children are destined to not be successful, I suggest you get off YOUR butt and show them how to prepare for the future and TEACH them the skills needed for the REAL WORLD. Asking for a handout, in any form, is pathetic. Perhaps I'm critical because I've been out of work and know first hand that one needs to distinguish themself to find a new job. My experience has been that people who are critical of the rich are the same people who are unwilling to take FULL accountability for their own mistakes and failures and choose to point the finger at blame towards those who have succeeded, without even learning how the got there.

Igor, sometimes we all need guidance and perhaps this was one of those times , unfortunately tooRead More late. I would hate to see copy cats to this when feeling emotionally despair, especially young kids . no one is immune to sadness and despair ,neither rich or poor , young or old we just need someone there to listen and help us through it .We as human have that moral obligation to each other .
Patsy Crothers April 19, 2014 at 12:16 pm

No one should sit in judgement of this man! Who are you? You are nobody to him and know absolutlyRead More nothing about him, his life or his death. He explaned his thoughts and feelings, take from it what you will but keep your judgements to your self, its not up to you. After reading some of the comments from this mans fellow human beings, can see why he might choose to leave.

I didn't read anything in the story about the father. What does the dad getting lucky have to doRead More with the story? Is "somebody" a bitter ex?
Eric S April 19, 2014 at 11:51 am
Brian, the point of including the father is the family history of poor behaviors and the popularRead More opinion that money bought off the law rather than justice being served.

NO -----SHE DESERVES WHAT SHE GOT..- She STABBED STABBED STABBED..she should have gotten the deathRead More penalty.....but michigan has only life in prison. Don't have sympathy for her just because she's a woman. She's a cold blooded killer and deserves what she got.
RON Ostrodamus April 19, 2014 at 03:11 am
The death penalty certainly cuts down on the record number of incarcerations in America. Enough ofRead More this liberal crap on humane punishment. The word "humane' never enters the minds of these cold blooded killers. What is going to happen if another bombing takes place outside of Texas? What is going to happen with the next airplane hijacking, or Boston?

Here is the perfect recipe for keeping foreclosure in Woodbury at a fast and steady rate. 1. ElectRead More inexperienced government officials 2. Continue on with a government that " tax and spends". 3. Continue to use the towns savings account to pay bills. 4. Hire more government employees to repay political favors. 5. Continue to raise taxes that are already too high. Then just sit back and watch the foreclosure rates climb. You only need to look at the newly proposed "Tax and Spend Budget". Woodbury BOF Chair want you to think that a 5.3 % increase in the budget and HIGHER TAXES will benefit the town ? Quoted from Rep-Am. "this is what we should bring to the town. And it's for the benefit of all taxpayers." Higher taxes, less money in our pocket to pay our mortgage, pay our bills and to buy our groceries will benefit us? Really. ? What would benefit us is ZERO % increase and ZERO increase in taxes. Higher taxes won't benefit the the people in town. It will benefit the people who sell real estate. Wait a minute here?

No where in the article does he said he knew it.

@Thomas Paine: I finally had some free time to read the link you provided. Heady stuff, and veryRead More well-researched. Thank you for it! A definite recommendation.
Thomas Paine April 19, 2014 at 10:24 am
Glad you enjoyed it. Sort of puts the mindset of the Framers in context and shows that membership inRead More a Militia had little to do with their views on the keeping of personal firearms.
DP April 19, 2014 at 01:29 pm
@Thomas Paine: I was thinking today how sad it is that our natural instinct of protecting ourselves,Read More our families, and our property has become a political issue. Liberals on the one side say that it is insanity to want a gun to protect yourself since we have police to do that. Non-liberals on the other side say that personal protection is a personal choice and natural right. Then a politician steps in and tries to work either angle to his/her advantage so they can have power over us. Sad. This isn't about The Constitution, politics, Dems vs. non-Dems, or anything like that. This is a divisive issue that has been capitalized upon by too many others who need to let the people well enough alone. The Constitution tells me nothing I didn't already know. The Constitution gives me nothing I didn't already have. I admire The Constitution, for sure, but it cannot rescue me or save me should I need saving. The hoplophobes will continue to exploit the dead. The other side will continue to scream about Constitutional rights. I'll simply be watching while I clean my guns. :)

When taxes are imposed on various industries then to stay in business the prices increase on theRead More consumer! Obamacare , gas taxes, payroll taxes, tolls, the proposed soda and candy tax , your tobacco tax is 75% of what the product really costs! Commercial Property tax increases! Do you people see what's going on here? This country is being destroyed by the Democrats! It is starting to resemble The a Soviet Union! We should change the name of this country to the USSA!

We need bomb-sniffing police dogs or military dogs. We also need to make the FBI accountable forRead More their failure to follow up on Russian warnings that Tamerlan Tsarnaeyev was being radicalized. The real jihadist in the family was the Tsarnaeyev's brothers' mother. The Russians knew that but didn't send the video proving it to the FBI. Even so, they told the FBI enough that they should have been on their trail, and the FBI blew it. And why weren't they on top of the former Grand Dragon of the Ku Klux Klan who shot to death three non-Jews in an anti-semitic attempt to kill Jews in Overland Park? Why do we allow so much surveillance of citizens when the results are so disappointing? It's not like the FBI is getting the job done. They miss a lot of really big, obvious targets.
