The civility of the Modern Political Left

http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2014/01/21/christian-bakery-guilty-violating-civil-rights-lesbian-cou...

This article is representative of everything that is wrong with the American Political Left.

1. The First Amendment of the United States Constitution explicitly protects individuals right to practice their religion freely.  To these bakers, they believe marriage is between a man and a woman.  Agree or disagree, that is their right to live their life as they see fit.  Government has no authority to compel someone to engage in an activity that violates their religious beliefs and this does.  By making a cake, they are participating in something they do not believe is valid.

2.  The discrimination argument is not valid.  This is a private business and that business belongs to them.  If they do not want to serve someone, government has no right to compel them.  These women could have easily shopped somewhere else.  However, they wanted to make someone serve them and that is typical of the bullying from the Left today.

3. The tactics of these activists are typical of how the Left behaves.  If someone does not bow to their whims, they must be punished.  Also note how these people's children were dragged into this.  There is no bounds to these people as they show no area off limits to obtain their agenda.

These women could have easily just gone somewhere else and bought their cake.  If we are going to tolerate this behavior where government can compel a private business owner to make a cake for a union that violates their beliefs, then government has unlimited power.

These Leftists do not believe in private property nor our constitutional rights.  It shows and their conduct also shows there is no level to which they will not stoop to.
