PÂTISSERIES ET CONVERSATION

On Monday, October 21, The Alliance Française of Northwestern Connecticut members and guests joined Denis Niez, owner of the acclaimed Ovens of France for a genuine taste of France at his Middlebury store. The evening included delectable pastries and fresh coffee while Denis, chef pâtissier par excellence, conversed in French about his background, training and career in the U.S. and Europe. Ovens of France opened its Woodbury store in 1997 and later opened a store in Middlebury, bringing the finest quality bakery creations to the area. Denis described the proper six-hour process of breadmaking that begins before dawn at Ovens of France and joked that an evening appearance by him is a very rare.
