Menorah Lighting, Wreath Making Scheduled This Week

Mark your calendars! Here are a few events scheduled for the week ahead in Woodbury and Middlebury.

Tuesday, November 26

Want to learn about local clubs and organizations? Stop by the Middlebury Public Library between 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. for Middlebury Pride. Representatives from town clubs and departments will be on hand to answer questions and provide information on how to get involved.

Wednesday, November 27

Middlebury will hold its annual Menorah Lighting on the green at 3:30 p.m. The ceremony, co-sponsored by the Westover School and the Middlebury Congregational Church, includes traditional Hanukkah blessings and songs.

Thursday, November 28

The First Congregational Church of Woodbury will host a free Thanksgiving dinner for members of the community from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. The meal includes turkey, sides, and dessert; take-out is available.

Friday, November 29 & Saturday, November 30

Flanders Nature Center will hold Family Wreath Making Workshops from 1 p.m to 3 p.m. each day. Kick off the holiday season by gathering evergreens, sipping hot chocolate, and making a beautiful decoration. The fee is $30 for non-members, and pre-registration is required.

Please note: both the Woodbury Public Library and the Middlebury Public Library will be closed Thursday, November 28 and Friday, November 29; Middlebury and Woodbury town offices will also be closed both days.
