Litchfield's Festival of Trees Set for Nov. 30

The Annual Festival of Trees will take place this year on the evening of November 30th from 4:30 to 8:30 at the Oliver Wolcott Library in Litchfield located on Rte. 63 south.. The event is the major fund raiser for the library which has been operating since 1862.

For this event local designers prepare festive centerpieces, and library patrons create wreaths and other forms of original art and holiday décor for bidding by attendees. The library is transformed into an elegant party venue for the more than 500 people who attend the event.

The silent auction is one of the biggest draws with its one-of-a-kind offerings. In addition to bidding on beautiful items from local merchants, patrons have an opportunity to buy a seat at an array of lavish themed dinners offered by local library friends, or sign up for other unique experiences, such as a cheese-making classes, white-glove museum tours, or a special children's "Night Out at OWL" where kids 5-8 arrive in their pajamas for a fun filled after hours story time, activities and 'behind the scenes' tour of the library.
