Friends and Neighbors Holiday Shopping Night to Benefit the Middlebury Food Bank

Friends and Neighbors Holiday Shopping Night to help the Middlebury Food Bank restock their shelves after Thanksgiving. Raffles, free hand treatment, shopping and more!

The Middlebury Junior Women’s Club is sponsoring the Friends and
Neighbors Holiday Shopping Night on Wednesday December 5th from 7-9pm
at the Shepardson Center to benefit the Middlebury Food Bank.
Vendors from over 20 different small businesses will have tables and are
offering items for raffle.  Our vendors include Origami Owl, Clever

Container, Mary Kay, Scentsy, Grace Medical Aesthetics, PartyLite, Thirty-One
Gifts, Discovery Toys, Barefoot Books, the Gourmet Cupboard, Tupperware and
more!  Gift ideas for everyone on your list and you get to support
local business owners.

In addition, the Middlebury Junior Women’s Club will be collecting
food to help the Middlebury Food Bank restock after Thanksgiving and in
preparation for the remainder of the holiday season.  Help members
of our community by bringing in a non-perishable food item or providing a cash
donation.  We are asking both vendors and shoppers to
donate.  For each food item donated, shoppers will
receive 2 free raffle tickets.  Additional tickets can be purchased
for $1, $5 will buy 6 tickets and $10 will buy 15
tickets.

The Middlebury Junior Women’s Club is a group of local women who work to support
their community through fundraising activities such as Pancake Breakfasts the
Flag Day 5K and networking.  We are always looking for new members to join us.  New members are welcome at anytime.  Come to any meeting or event and let us know you're checking us out!  We'd love to tell you more about us and what we do.  Profits from MJWC activities go toward
scholarships for Region 15 students, local organizations and non profits.
The MJWC always welcome new members.  They meet monthly on
the first Wednesday of the month at 7pm in the Shepardson Center,
Middlebury.   Follow their activities on Facebook (www.facebook.com/middleburyjuniorwomen) or www.middleburywomen.com.

Today's drug prohibition is getting violent criminals off the street - how many are in prison rightRead More now? Abuse of crack cocaine, heroin and the like have been proven to alter the brain chemistry, changing the user's personality, and frequently making them violent when they otherwise would not hurt a fly. These drugs are also used to benefit people who need them as prescribed by doctors. Tobacco has no such benefits. And skydiving? What does that have to do with tobacco? Does the skydiver harm other's health a month or more after he/she's been on the ground? No. Tobacco smoke does. It's called third hand smoke. Value? How can you compare art and entertainment with smoking? Anybody can attend an art gallery and not adversely affect anybody else. Any normal person can watch TV or play video games without committing suicide or harming anybody. Smoking hurts everybody and helps no one every time a smoker lights up. Drugs and alcohol, when used in moderation or under the direction of a doctor, can be helpful. Tobacco can not make the same claim.
