License Your Dog in June: Middlebury & Woodbury Information

It's that time of year — time to get your dogs licensed.

 

Middlebury Information

June is the month to license dogs. Licenses are $8 for a neutered or spayed dog and $19  if they are not. Dogs six months and older must be licensed per state law.

Proof of up-to-date rabies shots must be shown, as well as a certificate of neutering or spaying if your dog has not been registered before.

Registering dogs can also be done by mail. If registering by mail, a check and paperwork may be sent to the , 1212 Whittemore Rd., Middlebury, CT 06762.

Licenses purchased after June 30th are subject to a $1 per month late fee.

The town clerk’s office is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Contact 203-758-2557 with any questions.

Woodbury Information

Licenses can be obtained either by walk-in or mail in registration. Renewal notices were mailed out the end of May.

Renewal license notices will indicate whether people need proof of an updated rabies certificate. All dogs six months or older must be licensed. Newly licensed dogs will require rabies certificate as well as spayed/neutered certificate if applicable.

All mail-in registrations may be sent with a self-addressed stamped envelope, with renewal info and payment. Checks should be made payable to .

License Fees

  • Spayed/neutered dogs: $8
  • Unaltered dogs: $19
  • Late fee charge per month: $1
  • Lost tag replacement: $1

If families no longer have their family pet, the town clerk office staff ask that they be notified so the names can be removed from the system.

2012 Contest

The following information was listed on the town of Woodbury's website:

"Welcome to our contest. When you come in or mail in to license your dog during the month of June, please be sure to enter. Our dog contest(s) will begin on June 1st and end on June 29th. We will have two categories in which you may enter only one per animal. Our first contest will be “best photo” and the second will be “best in costume”. We will have 1st and 2nd place prizes in each category. Please join us for the fun and enter your pet(s).

Our contest winners will be announced here at the town clerk's office on Friday, July 6th at 10 a.m. Winners need not be present, but if you are here and your dog has been chosen the winner, a photo of you and your pet will be taken and put in the paper.

Please be sure when you bring your photo in to have on the back the following info: Dog’s name & address, Phone number, Owner’s name, Which contest: “Best photo” or “Best in costume”
