PHS Girls' Basketball Falls in State Semifinals

Panthers suffer one point lost to Bacon Academy Monday night, March 12.

 

The Pomperaug High School girls' basketball team’s incredible season came to a bitter end Monday night as they fell to Bacon Academy 50-49 in the CIAC Class ‘L’ state semifinals.

The Panthers notched 20 wins on the year, while only suffering three loses. PHS also fell just short of an SWC tournament title, losing to Lauralton Hall in the championship game earlier this month.

Bacon Academy now advances to the Class ‘L’ state championship game to face the winner of E.O. Smith and Berlin, this weekend at Mohegan Sun Arena.
