Birding at Flanders

Discover birding at the Van Vleck Farm and Nature Sancturay on Flanders Road in Woodbury. Almost 400 species of wild birds have been recorded in Connecticut. Flanders' diverse habitats from wooded swamps, fresh water marsh, woodlands with brushy edges and grassland habitats are a delight for birders with all levels of experience. Join Seth Harvey on a walk on Saturday, May 7 at 7:30 am to discover the diversity of birds at Flanders. Seth has been birding for 15 years and is a member of the Western CT Bird Club. He will share secrets of successful bird watching amd tips on how to identify birds.

There are more species of birds presnt in Connecticut during May than other month of the year... Wear comfortable hiking shoes and bring your bird identification book and binoculars if you have them.
