CT-Grown "Eat, Pray, Love" Author Giving Away Free Plants for a Year

Elizabeth Gilbert, author of "Eat, Pray, Love" and "The Signature of All Things," combined forces with White Flower Farm in Litchfield to offer this garden giveaway — one free plant a month, for a whole year!

Call it a chrysanthemum collaboration, a petunia partnering, an amaryllis alliance — White Flower Farm in Litchfield, Conn. and best-selling author Elizabeth Gilbert want to bring more beauty into your life with this garden giveaway.

Here’s what you need to know. The contest celebrates Gilbert’s latest book, “The Signature of All Things,” coming out in paperback. I’ve read the book and it takes you on a journey across a character’s entire life span, touching upon family, love, the space we occupy in this world and most importantly, moss.

“Moss? That’s the most important part?”

You might be asking those questions. But moss provides a window into two worlds in “The Signature of All Things” — the nature of Mother Earth and human nature.

Gilbert, who grew up in Litchfield, collaborated with White Flower Farm on this garden giveaway — those who fill out this entry form will be entered to win a year’s worth of free plants — one for every month!

“I have a special place in my heart for White Flower Farms, since I grew up just a mile down the road from their amazing headquarters,” Gilbert wrote on her Facebook page. “You know those plants are going to be simply gorgeous.”
