The MMS PTO encourages all Memorial Middle School parents, as well as those from Long Meadow and Middlebury Elementary School, to attend the fundraiser. The children who attend these elementary schools have participated in lessons using a variety of technology for much of their primary grades.

“Many of the boys and girls who are attending LMES and MES have used classroom technology since Kindergarten and would benefit from having these tools available at MMS,” said Nancy Belden, MMS PTO Co-president. “While we are so thankful that the passage of the budget will allow the middle schools to purchase Smart Boards, MMS still needs your support to purchase additional technology tools for the classrooms.”

The two-hour Beer & Wine Tasting and Silent Auction starts at 7:00 p.m. and the beer and wine are provided by Middlebury Fine Wine & Spirits, 1255 Middlebury Road, Middlebury.

"I have been part of the community for over 20 years, and my kids have had the benefit of attending Memorial Middle School. I feel honored to be part of this fundraising effort to make that experience even better for current and future students," said Bob Heusted, owner of Middlebury Fine Wine and Spirits.

"Shopping for that perfect bottle of wine can, at times, be intimidating. The MMS fundraiser is a great opportunity for our community to taste a wide assortment of beer, wine and spirits from all over the world, talk to the professionals pouring, and learn about some of the subtle facets that make this subject so engrossing. With over fifty beverages to taste, everyone is bound to find a new favorite."

At 9:00 p.m., guests are encouraged to dance and enjoy the provided appetizers and dessert. Guests may bring their own beverages during the entertainment portion of the evening.

“The fundraiser is an affordable and musical evening out for parents as well as a great way to support present and future Memorial Middle School students,” said Mrs. Belden. “This may be one of the only social events that the PTO will host for a few years, so now is the time to step up and sponsor these programs we dearly value.”
