Woodbury FFA Members Dominate State Competition

Nonnewaug High School FFA Members Dominate State Competition, including Christa Roth of Danbury. Recently submitted outstanding student FFA Proficiency Award applications to state competition.

The Woodbury FFA chapter located at Nonnewaug High School recently submitted several outstanding student FFA Proficiency Award applications to state competition.

These applications reflect the goals, progress and accomplishments of various students’ Supervised Agricultural Experience projects.  Each student in the Ellis Clark Regional Agriscience and Technology Center is required to accumulate over 200 hours of work experience outside of school at an agricultural business or job in order to be in the agriscience program.

Students keep accurate records of their work experience and teachers document their progress and achievements through a picture-based portfolio of each student.  Once they are juniors or seniors, students are encouraged to fill out the 16 page FFA Proficiency Award applications to be sent on to state competition against FFA members from the other 19 Regional Agriscience programs in Connecticut.
