Stomski Wins GOP Primary; Butterly to Appear on Nov. Ballot

Woodbury voters will once again decide between the two Republican candidates in November.

Despite a victory in the Woodbury GOP Primary, First Selectman Gerald Stomski will face his Republican challenger William Butterly Jr. again in November.

Stomski secured the party nomination with a 468—343 win on Tuesday, according to Judith Henderson, Republican Registrar of Voters for the town of Woodbury.

A rainy start on Tuesday morning kept things slow at the polls but 33 percent of registered republicans cast a vote.

According to the Waterbury Republican-American, Butterly petitioned to be on the ballot in November in lieu of another party candidate.
