So Woodbury: What's the Problem with the Budget?

The finance board chairman posed that question after a Woodbury budget referendum failed for the third time.

The Woodbury town budget failed at the Thursday, July 25, referendum, 565 to 560. Board of Finance Chairman Bill Butterly reacted to the rejection and said voters are sending a message.

The problem is, he's not entirely sure what message voters are sending. Maybe the board can find another forum to talk to people, he theorized.

"There's something they're mad at," Butterly said, adding that the possibility of cutting the budget to bare bones is a concern of his.

So voters, here's your forum.

  • How would you respond to Butterly?
  • Are you mad and if so, what's troubling you?
  • Would you make any changes to the proposed budget and what changes would you make?
  • Is there anything else you'd like to share?

You can share thoughts in the comments section, via the opinion board or by starting a blog. The forum is yours.
