Middlebury's Republican Primary Results Are In

Middlebury reflected the statewide trend and Romney got the most votes.

 

The Tuesday, April 24, Republican primary results for Middlebury are in.

  • Newt Gingrich: 25
  • Ron Paul: 36
  • Mitt Romney: 244
  • Rick Santorum: 24
  • Uncommitted: 9

Voter turnout was 14 percent, according to numbers provided by Edie Salisbury. Of the 2,403 names on the active Republican enrollment list, 338 people voted.

"We hoped it would be a larger turnout but unfortunately it was not," Salisbury said in an e-mail to Patch.

Middlebury's numbers are in line with the statewide vote. The New York Times reported that Romney had 67.5-percent of the vote statewide as of 10:13 p.m., with 90 percent of the precincts reporting.
