Middlebury voters lent their support to the 2012-13 budget, 314 to 179, at a Tuesday, June 5, referendum at .
The approved 2012-13 budget, at $9,406,782, features a $180,864 decrease from last year's budget.
In 2011-12, the approved budget was $9,587,646.
Voter turnout was approximately 9.8 percent. Of the 5,056 people on the voter list, 493 people voted.
Selectman Ralph Barra said he is happy the budget passed.
"The Board of Selectmen and the Board of Finance worked together and we got the budget passed," he said. "I want to thank the voters who came out to support the budget. It's a step in the right direction. We're working together and the town is starting to heal."
