Generators, Fire Truck and Natural Gas Conversion On Agenda of Woodbury Special Town Meeting

A special town of Woodbury meeting will begin at 8 p.m. Monday, July 2, at the . All electors and citizens qualified to vote in town meetings of the town may attend and vote.

The full agenda is attached to this article as a PDF. What follows is a summary of the agenda items.

1. To consider and act upon a resolution,

(a) to appropriate $805,000 for costs related to various public safety equipment acquisitions, refurbishments and facility improvements, consisting of:

  • Replacement of the generator at the
  • Acquisition and installation of a generator at the Senior Community Center/Emergency Shelter
  • Installation of a generator at the Town Office complex
  • Acquisition, installation and construction of related equipment and improvements (estimated cost of $255,000)
  • Acquisition of a mid-size Class A pumper fire truck and related equipment for use by the (estimated cost of $550,000), and for related work and improvements.

(b) to authorize the issue of bonds or notes of the Town in an amount not to exceed $805,000; to authorize the issue of temporary notes of the Town in amount not to exceed $805,000 in anticipation of such bonds or notes.

2. To consider and act upon a resolution,

  • a.) To appropriate $44,000 for costs related to various solid waste disposal/recycling projects, consisting of acquisition of two 40 cubic yard rolling roof recycling boxes (estimated cost of $24,000)
  • Repair and replacement of the concrete loading pads at the (estimated cost of $20,000); and for related work and improvements.

(b) to authorize the issue of bonds or notes of the Town in an amount not to exceed $44,000; to authorize the issue of temporary notes of the Town in amount not to exceed $44,000 in anticipation of such bonds or notes.

3. To consider and act upon a resolution,

(a) To appropriate $577,000 for costs related to acquisition of various vehicles and equipment for use by the Public Works Department and the , consisting of:

  • A diesel tractor and related equipment including an aerator attachment (estimated cost of $66,000)
  • A utility tractor equipped with a side-mounted flail mower and related equipment (estimated cost of $66,000
  • Two-three cubic yard diesel-powered dump truck and related equipment (estimated cost of $75,000)
  •  Two six-eight cubic yard diesel-powered dump trucks and related equipment including snowplows and sanders (estimated cost of $370,000).

(b) to authorize the issue of bonds or notes of the Town in an amount not to exceed $577,000; to authorize the issue of temporary notes of the Town in amount not to exceed $577,000 in anticipation of such bonds or notes.

4. To consider and act upon a resolution,

(a) to appropriate $424,000 for costs related to various Town building improvement projects, consisting of:

  • Conversion of the heating infrastructure at the , , Police, Dog Pound and from oil to natural gas fuel
  • Acquisition, installation and construction of related equipment and improvements (estimated cost of $105,000).
  • Installation of a new boiler for the Library Building, and acquisition, installation and construction of related equipment and improvements (estimated cost of $75,000)
  • Communication technology upgrades including related wiring upgrades at all Town offices and buildings (estimated cost of $244,000); and for related work and improvements.

(b) to authorize the issue of bonds or notes of the Town in an amount not to exceed $424,000; to authorize the issue of temporary notes of the Town in amount not to exceed $424,000 in anticipation of such bonds or notes.
