Democratic Picnic and Campaign Kickoff Taking Place [UPDATE]

Candidates and elected officials from four towns will be present.

The Democratic Family Picnic and campaign kickoff will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, at Hollow Park on Hollow Road.

There is no cost to attend.

Democratic municipal candidates and elected officials from the following towns will attend: Middlebury, Southbury, Washington and Woodbury.

Traditional picnic fare will be served. More information can be obtained by calling 203-263-4404 or by visiting the Woodbury Democratic Town Committee website.

Update: Dan Roberti, Democratic candidate for the 5th Congressional District, will attend from 2 to 4 p.m.

They can attend a picnic but they can't attend a debate? I went to NHS to ask questions of the candidates, no Democrats and no WoodburyFirst. Shame on "both".

Let's be honest: the shame is that the BEDC, which is supposed to be a non-partisan town committee concerned with Economic Development, attempted to 'cover' a political maneuver by sponsoring a 'debate' and calling it a 'fundraiser for victims of Irene'. The 'debate' was actually scheduled before the hurricane even occurred.
