If the general election is between Republican Linda McMahon and Democrat Chris Murphy, Connecticut will have to choose either one of the richest or poorest senators, reports Danbury News Times. McMahon's net worth is approximately $232 million, while Murphy has a negative net worth of $367,000.

Fifth District

Dan Roberti (D): Due to frontrunner Chris Donovan's (D) campaign contribution scandal, polls say that Roberti is now the lead Democratic candidate, reports CT News Junkie

In OUR great state of Connecticut, I personally think it's time to put a Senator in office who is business savvy. One who can re-direct, along with other members of our government, to a safer and saner financial footing. The times I have tried writing to Representative Murphy's office regarding an item in these financial issues active in Congress, I have received, after a while, the typical canned staffer-written response. (A "thanks, but no thanks" for your opinion on this financial matter up for a vote. We are taking the "follow Obama" route.) This is OUR country, and I hope to see, in my lifetime, it back on track financially. Linda doesn't seem too shy to handle this with her one vote in the Senate. And I don't see here as backing down from an issue, even if disagreeing with the administration. And, this IS Connecticut. Our state has been among the LEADERS in business for our collective lifetimes. Let's use our strengths in this area.
