Campaign Notebook: Murphy Says System is 'Broken'

The latest news and updates from the campaign trail in Connecticut.

Linda McMahon (R): A large sign near exit 29 on Interstate 95 readers “Linda: She’s Out Shopping Again.” The candidate didn’t respond to the jab, reports the Stamford Advocate.

Chris Murphy (D): The congressman came to New Britain with a Republican colleague to talk about bipartisanship and dysfunction in Washington D.C. Murphy said, according to the Associated Press, that “the system is fundamentally broken.”

Fifth District

The district’s crowded field of GOP candidates are working to win over voters in time for the August primary, reports the Hartford Courant. Andrew Roraback recently threw out the first pitch at a New Britain Rock Cats game, while the other candidates take their message door-to-door.

It's broken? HIlarious. You post news of a sign saying "Hse's out shopping again" and then in the next paragraph lament the lack of bipartisanship? Are you serious? I remember a certain Barack Obama declaring "I won." I remember democrats entertaining absolutely no changes to their Obamacare bill. I see democrats saying any opposition to Obam is racist. I see democrats saying Republicans want women and old people to die. Yeah, it's broken alright, and Murphy and his pathetic democrats are to blame. He needs to go.

Of course the system is broken. Chris Murphy has not voted on a budget since George Bush was president.
