Woodbury Man Aids in DUI Arrest

Man follows car that fled the scene of an accident in Woodbury.

A Naugatuck man was arrested and charged with DUI after a Woodbury man followed him from the scene of an accident on Route 64 in Woodbury.

Leo Hansen, 56, of Naugatuck was arrested and charged with DUI on May 18 at approximately 9:30 p.m. after he left the scene of an accident that occurred on Route 64 near Tuttle Road in Woodbury. Mark Gyolai, 53, of 87 Coach Light Drive in Woodbury, followed Hansen from the scene and called 911 to report the incident.

Officers made contact with Hansen and Gyolai on Route 317, where a thorough investigation, including a field sobriety test, resulted in the arrest of Hansen.

Hansen was charged with DUI, evading responsibility and unsafe passing. He was released on $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court May 31.
