Woodbury Barn Burns in Sunday Fire

The fire began sometime before 7:56 p.m. Sunday, July 22.

 

Update, 10:14 p.m. 

First Selectman Gerald Stomski said the barn fire occurred at 2 Good Hill Rd., Woodbury.

"It was totally engulfed when the fire department arrived," he said via e-mail. "It was a outbuilding. It is a total loss. The homeowner was not home at the time. There were no injuries. The State Fire Marshall is investigating the cause of the fire. At this time it is undetermined."

A barn located at the intersection of Transylvania Road and Route 317 in Woodbury is reportedly a total loss after a fire broke out sometime before 7:56 p.m. Sunday, July 22.

Woodbury First Selectman Gerald Stomski said no injuries are reported at this time. He said the barn was an auxiliary structure.

Woodbury-Middlebury Patch received a tweet from @jwmorganjr at approximately 8:46 p.m. noting that a portion of Route 317 between Transylvania Road and Westside Road is closed tonight.

Stomski said he expects to have additional information in about an hour. Patch will update the article when information becomes available.
