Woman Escapes Injury After Car Runs Off Route 63 in Middlebury

At approximately 6 p.m., a silver Maxima was towed from Route 63 in Middlebury after crashing through guardrails.

 

A woman driving a silver Maxima northbound on Route 63 in Middlebury, toward Watertown, was not injured after crashing through the guardrails and into the woods, according to Officer Fred Marcantonio.

"She went into the woods, probably about 100 to 150 feet," he said. "She probably would have gone farther if she didn't hit a tree."

Marcantonio declined to give a name or note a possible cause of the accident, as the accident is still under investigation. The accident occurred just north of the intersection with Park Road.

The car was towed from the scene.
