Woodbury Police: Found Scooter, Car Vs. Motorcycle

Lost a scooter/moped-like vehicle? The Woodbury police found one in town.

 

Scooter/Moped Found in Woodbury

A scooter or moped was found in a wooded area near Middle Quarter Road in Woodbury, according a June 21 police report.

Car Vs. Motorcycle

At approximately 1:36 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, Woodbury police investigated a car vs. motorcycle accident that took place on Mountain Road near Pleasant Street.

The car and the motorcycle sustained minor damage. The car was driven by Holly Gransky, 69, of 94 Brushy Hill Rd.

The motorcycle driver was Andrew Murray, 52, of 176 Hazel Plain Rd.

Damage to CL&P Property After Accident

Douglas Irvine, 52, of 857 Reservoir Rd., Southbury, was northbound on Curtiss Road Extension at approximately 10:35 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, when his car struck one leg of a tripod that was in the right hand shoulder of the roadway.

The tripod was used to survey the area for CL&P. There were no reported injuries or witnesses.

The car sustained a light scratch on its lower, right-side spoiler. The tripod sustained moderate damage.


Irvine was given a written warning for speeding. Officer Stephen Tokarz investigated.

 

Injury After Town's Road Maintenance Vehicle Accident

At approximately 7:42 a.m. Thursday, June 14, a municipal road maintenance vehicle was northbound on Route 6 near Scratchville Road, when a portion of the attached flail mower struck a state of state-owned bridge abutment, causing the vehicle to spin clockwise.

Michael Crownshaw, 39, of 60 Sandy Hill Rd., Middlebury, stated he had head and neck pain and was transported to Waterbury Hospital for a precautionary medical evaluation.

Police are investigating the incident and ask anyone with information to call the Woodbury Police Department at 203-263-3400.
