Teenager Hit by Car; Route 6 in Woodbury Closed

Traffic is being rerouted near Routes 61 and 6, after a 17-year-old was reportedly struck by a car, the Woodbury first selectman reports.

First Selectman Gerald Stomski confirmed a teenager on a scooter was struck by a car on Route 6 this morning, Friday, Sept. 7.

He said the teenager was transported to a local hospital but he has no word on the condition at this point.

Initial reports indicate the teenager may have traveled in front of a car before being struck but Stomski could not confirm that at this point.

Route 6 is closed north of Route 61 and traffic is being rerouted accordingly, Stomski said.
