Southbury Man Found Dead on Florida Beach

Body of 47-year-old Jay Harper, of Southbury, washed ashore early Wednesday morning.

A body that washed ashore on a Florida beach Wednesday has been identified as a Southbury man.

According to the Miami Herald, the body of Jay Harper, 47, of Southbury, was found early Wednesday morning in Deerfield Beach, FL.

Harper’s body was discovered by the Broward County Sheriff’s Office and was later identified by homicide detectives, according to the Miami Herald.

The circumstances surrounding Harper’s death, and the exact cause of death, remain unknown.

I used to work at Coverall and Jay was one of my sales trainers. Great guy!! Awesome sales trainer and friend!! Never had a bad thing to say about anyone. This doesn't make any sense to me. My heart goes out to his family!!!

Jay you will truly be missed since this tragic I haven't been able to understand why you... You have always listened to what I had to say and always gave me good advice my heart goes out to your family Karen and the kids I will keep them in my prayers and pray that they find the strength to get through such tragic may God bless you all...

I still can't believe it, My deepest sympathy to Karen and the children, I know how much they ment to you. Seems like only yesterday you were at Culligan, and I would come in your office and shoot the breeze with you about the kids. You will all be in my prayers, and I'm sure you will be greatly missed by all. Good bye Buddy!
