Reports of Shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School [Updated]

All Newtown Schools are on lockdown for a reported shooting.

Update at 10:15 a.m. on Dec. 14:

The parent of a Newtown student called Patch to say that she received a call from the district stating that all schools are on lockdown.

The original report follows:

State police are responding to a shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Former Region 14 Principal Dawn Hochsprung is the principal of the school.

According to the Courant, police are responding to an unclear number of injuries and surrounding towns are being asked to respond.
