Report: Person Killed in Car Crash on Route 67

The accident shut down Route 67 near Route 188 on the Southbury-Oxford line.

Connecticut State Police are investigating a car accident that claimed the life of an unidentified individual Thursday afternoon.

The person's identity has not yet been released.

The accident took place on Route 67 near Burma Road and Route 188, near the Southbury-Oxford line, according to an article by theHartford Courant. The road was closed temporarily while emergency crews investigated and cleared the vehicles from the area, a witness told Patch.

The Courant reports that the victim's car crashed head-on into a truck with a trailer. The driver of the truck was reportedly transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
