Man Charged with Stalking Middlebury Ex Found Locked in Bathroom

Man reportedly locked himself in the bathroom to avoid arrest.

A Naugatuck man was arrested Saturday after Middlebury police received reports from a female victim that the man — an ex boyfriend — had been stalking her.

According to police, the victim was working at Blast Gym in Middlebury when she saw an old boyfriend watching her. There had also been previous incidents between the victim and suspect in the past.

After receiving the complaint, Middlebury and Naugatuck police went to the North Church Street home of Carlos Filipe Pascoal, 30, who they found locked in the bathroom to avoid being arrested.

Pascoal was charged with stalking in the third degree and interfering/resisting arrest. He was held on $50,000.00 bond pending arraignment Monday morning.
