Naugatuck Man Arrested in Route 63 Drug Trafficking Investigation

Middlebury and Naugatuck police arrested a Naugatuck man early Tuesday morning as part of a months-long joint narcotics investigation into drug sales and transportation along the Route 63 corridor.

Police arrested 33-year-old Adam Strong at around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday and executed a search warrant at his Rubber Ave. apartment in Naugatuck, where they discovered Oxycodone pills, marijuana and Suboxone.

Middlebury police charged Strong with two counts each of possession of crack cocaine, possession within 1500 feet of a school, possession with intent to sell, possession within 1500 feet of a school with intent to sell, sale of crack cocaine and sale of crack cocaine within 1500 feet of a school.

Naugatuck police filed additional charges from a separate arrest warrant and on-site violations discovered while executing the warrant.

Police also seized Strong’s 2005 Acura and some cash as part of the investigation.
 
Strong posted court set bonds totaling $350,000 and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 23.

In 2004, Strong was convicted on three felony drug charges for possession with intent to sell and/or dispense, sale of “certain illegal drugs” and sale of hallucinogens and/or narcotics, for which he was sentenced to two, five and 10 years in prison, respectively.
