Middlebury Police Arrest Fugitive from Justice
Police arrested a man wanted in Vermont for kidnapping and aggravated assault, Lt. Richard Wildman says.
A Vermont man staying at 5 Laurel Rd., Middlebury, was arrested at approximately 12:58 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, Middlebury Police Lt. Richard Wildman stated in a press release.
George Cuomo, 43, was arrested after Vermont State Police's Derby Barracks asked Middlebury police to check the Laurel Road address for Cuomo.

Vermont State Police held an active arrest warrant for Cuomo for the following charges:
- Kidnapping - Body Injury or Fear and Assault
- First Degree Aggravated Domestic Assault
Cuomo was taken into custody without incident by Officer Kathy Blick and Officer Ed Demers and charged with being a fugitive from justice.

He was held on $45,000 bond and will be arraigned in Waterbury Superior Court today: Tuesday, Sept. 11.
Vermont State Police are hoping to successfully extradite Cuomo back to Vermont to face these charges, Lt. Wildman stated in the press release.
