Middlebury Police Explorers Hosting Open House

An explorer is a young adult who will learn about law enforcement and participate in community functions. The program is open to Middlebury, Southbury Watertown and Woodbury residents.

 

A Middlebury Police Explorers Open House will take place at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, at Shepardson Community Center.

What is an explorer?

An explorer is a young adult who has the privilege to discover and learn more about the law enforcement field, be involved in community functions and support surrounding towns.

Explorers will learn about subjects related to law enforcement, including but not limited to:

  • Criminal Law (Intro to Criminal Justice)
  • Motor Vehicle Law
  • Domestic Violence Laws
  • Juvenile Law
  • Forensics (fingerprints, photographs, etc.)
  • Traffic Control
  • Arrest & Control
  • Defensive Tactics
  • DWI Enforcement
  • Drug Education and Enforcement
  • First Aid and CPR
  • Police Patrol Dogs/Drug Dogs
  • SWAT
  • Physical agility
