Middlebury Man Involved in Film Scam is Sentenced

A local chiropractor took $28 million in investments for a film he'd never produce.

A Middlebury man who pleaded guilty to charges of scamming investors in a project to produce a documentary film will serve seven years.

Louis Soteriou, a chiropractor, worked with filmmaker Malcolm Parker to raise $28 million from investors but prosecutors say Soteriou has still not produced the film.

Soteriou was sentenced Monday at a federal court in Rutland, Vermont, according to CBS Connecticut.
