During the arraignment, McCurry started to share information with the judge, who advised him to speak with his public defender attorney, Wayne Jekot.
"I'm aware of what he wants to say," said Jekot. "I'm going to advise that he not say it."
In Labbe's file at the Waterbury Superior Court clerk's office, it was noted that Labbe was in need of medical and psychiatric attention, a matter that was also brought up during the arraignment.
Most of the arraignment was devoted to the suspects' past history with the law.
Labbe was found guilty of larceny in the sixth degree in April 2006, disorderly conduct in February 2012 and prostitution in August 2012.
In October 2004, McCurry was found guilty of risk of injury to a child and violation of probation, operating a motor vehicle under suspension.
McCurry was found guilty on the following charges in June 2008: burglary in the third degree, larceny in the third degree, interference with an officer/resisting arrest and use of a motor vehicle without permission and evading responsibility relating to the operation of a motor vehicle.
