Middlebury Fire at Janesky Home Still Under Investigation

Five days after firefighters battled an intense fire at a Breakneck Hill Road home in Middlebury, the fire marshal informed the Hartford Courant that a cause is still unknown.

The homeowner, Larry Janesky, was quoted in the Courant as saying that earlier notions on foam insulation causing the fire are not correct.

The fire began on Thursday, July 3, and firefighters were on scene throughout the evening and into Friday, July 4. The majority of the home was burned to the ground.
