UPDATE: Lake Zoar Jet Ski Accident Sends Two to Hospital

Individuals were transported to a local hospital following the accident.

 

Update: 11:10 p.m.

 The July 8 accident on the Southbury section of Lake Zoar, that sent two people to the hospital, was caused by two jet skis colliding, according to DEEP Communications Director Dennis Schain.

According to Schain, two males were taken to St. Mary's Hospital after a jet ski operated by another male collided with them at close to 5 p.m. near the Lakeside Marina in Southbury.

Schain described the men’s injuries as non-life threatening.

Two individuals were transported to St. Mary’s Hospital Sunday, July 8, after a Jet Ski accident on Lake Zoar in Southbury.

According to police, the accident occurred shortly after 5 p.m. Sunday near the area of Lee Farm Dr. in the Southbury section of Lake Zoar.

Local and state police confirmed the accident and said the incident is being handled by members of the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. DEEP emergency officials could not be immediately reached for comment.

The status of the victims is unknown, according to St. Mary’s Hospital officials.
