Arrest Made in Stolen Fire Department Signs
The following arrest information was supplied by the State Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
Michael Anson, 18, of Bridgewater, was charged with second-degree criminal mischief, fifth-degree larceny and intent to commission a crime on Nov. 21 at approximately 5:00 p.m.
According to police, Anson turned himself in to State Police Troop ‘L’ in Litchfield after learning a warrant had been issued for his arrest. A warrant was issued following an investigation of the theft of two “Smokey the Bear” signs from the Woodbury Fire Department property on Aug. 13.

Two juveniles were also involved and were referred to juvenile court, according to police.
Anson was released on $500 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Dec. 5.
