Wine of the Week Wednesday: A Great Wine for Easter

Having Easter dinner? What wine will you be serving?

When I walked into Larry's Wine & Spirits for this week's Wine of the Week recommendation, Robert Zabit immediately thought of Easter.

He chose Emma Pearl's 2009 Central Coast Chardonnay. This wine comes from Santa Barbara County vineyards in sunny California.

"The state’s sublime sunshine and cool coastal orientation are key factors in producing our notable Chardonnay from estate vineyards in Santa Barbara County," according to the Emma Pearl website. "The addition of 10 percent Viognier lends the wine rich texture, lifted aromatics and a lovely floral quality."

Flavors

Straight from the winemaker's website, Emma Pearl's chardonnay features aromas of poached pears, caramel, butter-cream and brown baking spices.

Lemon, toasted cinnamon and sweet clove will linger once the wine is done.
