Barbara Perkinson Deserves Your Vote

Support Barbara Perkinson

Recently there have been letters of support for some of the other candidates running for Selectman this November, praising their experience in and outside the town of Woodbury. None of these candidates come near the dedication and experience, which Barbara Perkinson has given to this town. She has served on the Board of Selectmen (4 years), chaired the town Recycling Ad Hoc subcommittee, as well as the Plan of Conservation and Development subcommittee, manned the Emergency Services Building and the Senior/Community Center during the prolonged power outrages (welcoming residents, maintaining order, making decisions for personnel and answering questions for residents). Finally, she has represented the town of Woodbury at many functions, which the other Selectmen were not able to attend.

Prior to her Selectman service, she was on the Zoning Commission (6 years) and Region 14 Board of Education (12 years), where she chaired the Region’s Policy subcommittee (11 years), while also serving on the Transportation, Curriculum and Finance subcommittees.

Yes, there are others who may have either served the town or lobbied for various issues in town, but their actions pale in comparison to dedicated and selfless activities which Barbara has performed for our town. This while raising a family, being a mother and working as a teacher. Barbara is a woman who deserves your support.

So let us not be fooled by those who criticize the work that Barbara and Jerry have done together for Woodbury. There is their outstanding job with the municipal budgets, keeping taxes stable for the last 4 years. They have set in motion future savings by converting the town heating systems from oil to natural gas, while ensuring their function during any type of disaster. Please vote for the “Proven Leadership” of Stomski/Perkinson on Tuesday, November 5, 2013.

Thank you.
