Shari Ellen Henne Richardson: A Loving Mother, A Caring Person

Shari Ellen Henne Richardson, 49, of Woodbury died unexpectedly Saturday September 21, 2013.

She was born December 10, 1963 in Waterbury of Marilyn (Truelove) Hakli and the late Charles Henne. Shari grew up in Middlebury, and she graduated from Pomperaug high school in 1981. She married the late Douglas Eugene Richardson in 2005.

Shari was a spirited, independent, and athletic woman. Throughout her life, many people found her riding her bike or running around Middlebury--or even swimming at the MRA. She loved and cared for her son, she was outgoing and fun, and she was the kind of woman that people liked to be around.

Shari, for many years, worked as an educator at Southbury Training School. She enjoyed tending to those who needed her care and her attention. And she was good at it. Often, she shared inspiring stories of her clients and talked about the talents of those who most people would not notice. She had a special capacity for recognizing value in any person.

Shari is survived by her mother, Marilyn Hakli, and her step father, Charles Hakli, of Southbury; her loving sisters and brothers - Linda and Allan Keeler of Woodbury, John and Emily Henne of Burlington, Carol and Bob Fay of Asheville (North Carolina), and William and Laura Henne of Woodbury; eight wonderful nieces and nephews; and her son - the love of her life - Paul Henne of Durham (North Carolina).

Services will be held Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 10:00 AM. at the Woodbury United Methodist Church, 4 Church Street, Woodbury, CT 06798. Arrangements by Carpino Funeral Home, Southbury, CT.
