Obituary: Virginia (Vicino) Crawford of Woodbury

Calling hours and the funeral service in memory of Virginia Crawford will take place on August 2 and 3, respectively.

 

Virginia P. (Vicino) of Woodbury died Sunday, July 29, 2012 at Waterbury Hospital. She was the wife of Eugene “Gene” Crawford.

She was born in Hartford, Conn., daughter of the late Prosper and Mary (Skidd) Vicino.

She resided in Woodbury for 20 years, previously living in Hollywood, MD. She grew up in West Hartford and graduated from Conard High School and from Immaculata College in Washington, D.C. with a degree in fine arts. She received her bachelor’s degree of fine arts from Western Connecticut State College.

Crawford was the owner of Woodbury Antique and Fine Arts. She was a member of the and a member of the Word of Life Family Church of Middlebury. She enjoyed gardening, art collecting and was very active in the church and in her home and was very dedicated to her family.

Besides her husband, she leaves three brothers, Charles Vicino and his wife Jane of Marlborough, Conn., David Vicino of Middletown, Raymond Vicino and his wife Carole of Farmington, two sisters, MaryAnn Belanger and her husband Jim of New Milford and Michela Adams Reno, N.V. and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her stepmother, Rita Vicino.

Calling Hours: 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 2, at , 2 School St

Funeral Service: 11 a.m. Friday, August 3, at the Word of Life Family Church, 393 Tucker Hill Rd., Middlebury.

Burial: Following in Pine Hill Cemetery, Southbury.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions may be made to the Word of Life Family Church, P.O. Box 77, Plantsville, CT 06479.
