Obituary: Josephine (Maturo) Zorn, 101, of Waterbury

Josephine Zorn was employed at U.S. Time in Middlebury for 10 years, later known as Timex. Her hobbies included playing the mandolin, crossword puzzles, and arts and crafts.

 

Josephine (Maturo) Zorn, 101, of Waterbury, died peacefully Thursday, January 12, 2012, at the Paradigm Healthcare Center of Waterbury in the presence of her loving family. She was the widow of George A. Zorn.

Zorn was born in Waterbury on July 21, 1910, daughter of the late Anthony and Rose (Pacelli) Maturo. She was employed at U.S. Time in Middlebury, later known as , for 10 years. She had a passion for cooking for her family and friends. Her hobbies included playing the mandolin, crossword puzzles and arts and crafts.

Zorn leaves her daughter, Arlene R. Stiklius, and her husband Joseph of Waterbury; son George E. Zorn and his wife Ethel of Spring Hill Fla.; seven grandchildren: Tracey Kosakowski of Waterbury; Ron Kosakowski of Prospect; Kurt Zorn of Spring Hill, Fla.; Eric, Scott and Dawn Zorn of Waterbury; and Daryl Zorn of Cheshire; and twelve great grandchildren. She was the last of seven siblings.

Calling Hours: 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 15, at Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury.

Funeral: 9 a.m. Monday, Jan. 16, leaving from Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, to Our Lady of Loreto Church for a 10 a.m. Mass.

Burial: Following at the New Pine Grove Cemetery.
