Obituary: James Mucherino Jr., 29

James "Jimmy" William Mucherino Jr., beloved son, brother, uncle and friend, died Nov. 9, 2012, at the age of 29.

Born on Nov. 27, 1982, James was known for having a heart of gold and a smile that could light up the room. He could make anyone laugh and he loved being surrounded by family and friends. His passion was horseshoeing, a trade that was passed down through generations. Words cannot describe how amazing he was and what a tremendous loss this is.

He leaves behind both his mother, Jodi Mucherino of Watertown, and father, James Mucherino (and step-mother, Maureen Mucherino) of Woodbury; as well as three sisters, Jessica Mucherino, also of Watertown, Shawna Mucherino of Woodbury, and Kateln Mucherino, of Woodbury; and a nephew, Waylon Greenwood.

He also leaves his grandparents, Ann Mucherino, originally from Oxford, and Charles “Chuck” Woodward from Goshen; uncles, Lewis and Wayne Mucherino; aunts, Wendy and Gary Sega, and Bonnie Macedonia; uncle George and aunt Amy Haray; uncle Danny Haray; uncle Bill and aunt Lolo Yappel; many cousins, and many friends.

He was predeceased by his grandmother, Alice Woodward, and his grandfather, Lewis “Duke” Mucherino. James will be forever in our hearts.

Calling hours will take place on Friday, Nov. 16, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Southbury Funeral Home of Munson–Lovetere, 235 Main St. North. A graveside service will be held Saturday, Nov. 17, at 10 a.m. at West Goshen Cemetery, Milton Road, Goshen.
