Obituary: Beulah Hillson, 91, of Woodbury

Beulah Hillson enjoyed hand-crafting items for St. Paul's Christmas Fair and was an avid reader. She worked as a secretary in the Oxford Public School system.

 

Beulah Hillson, 91, a longtime Woodbury resident, died on February 29, 2012, at the . She was the beloved wife of the late George Hillson.

Hillson was born January 15, 1921, in Oxford, daughter of the late Frederick R. and Katherine (Derry) Bice. She was a retired secretary from the .

Hillson was a devoted Communicant of . She very active there and enjoyed hand-crafting items for the Christmas Fair. She and her late husband loved to travel and she enjoyed visiting friends and family. Hillson was an avid reader and she liked knitting.

She leaves her loving children, Warren C. Rice and Janet Congdon both of Bethlehem; her brother Reid Bice of Ft. Worth, Texas; her sister, Phyllis Budris of Oxford; four grandchildren, Warren Rice, Jr., Amy Rebner, Katherine Jeanne Rebner and Allison Taylor and her husband Alex; three great grandchildren, Elliot Taylor, Emily and Stephanie Yagelowic;, and several nieces and nephews.

Her brother, Warren Bice, and sister Myrill Blood , and her granddaughter Susan Rice, predeceased her.

A Memorial Service of Requiem Eucharist in celebration of Hillson's life will take place at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 11, at , 294 Main St. South, Woodbury, 06798.

Interment will be in the Bethlehem Cemetery. There are no calling hours.

Memorial gifts may be sent to St. Paul's Episcopal Church.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church St., Seymour.
