In Memoriam: Michael Bochicchio, State Police Captain, 86

Mr. Michael L. Bochicchio Sr., 86, of 70 Baldwin Hill Road, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Helen (McCarthy) Bochicchio.

Michael was born in Waterbury on January 20, 1927, son of the late Leonard and Maria (Galicchio) Bochicchio. He was a graduate of Leavenworth High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp having served his country proudly during WWII. He earned a Bachelor degree from the University of Connecticut and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of New Haven. He was proud to have joined the Connecticut State Police in 1956 and went on to become Captain, retiring in 1989. He taught at the University of New Haven. He was a member of the Connecticut State Police Alumni Association, and a member & past President of the Litchfield Lions Club. He loved to travel and especially loved spending time with his family.

Besides his wife Helen of 62 years, he is survived by his daughter, Ginger Bochicchio of Woodbury and her fiancé John Buturla of Richmond, VA, his son, Bruce A. Bochicchio of Atlanta, Georgia, and 7 grandchildren, Gina Mucherino of Waterbury, Geoffrey Bochicchio and Amira Bochicchio of Simi Valley, CA, Michael Bochicchio III of Woodbury, Karlyn Bochicchio of Charleston, SC, Gianna and Anthony Bochicchio of Atlanta, GA, and several nieces and nephews. He was the last of twenty siblings and was predeceased by his son, Michael L. Bochicchio Jr.

Arrangements: Funeral will be held Saturday, 9:00 a.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway to the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception for a Mass at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery, with full military honors. Calling hours will be held Friday, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
