Preview of 'Tales from the Mouth of the Golden Horse Head' at Westover School

Westover School presents 'Tales from the Mouth of the Golden Horse Head' Feb. 7 & 8

The Westover School Theater Department will present an original play, Tales from the Mouth of the Golden Horse Head, on Friday and Saturday, February 7th and 8th, at 7:00 pm. (Please note the earlier starting time for this production than usual.)

Theater Program Director Marla Truini directs the production. The play, written by students, is a series of scenes and monologues all centered on the theme of “The Other.” The script and all of the designs for the show were created using a “devised theater” process in which the students engaged in a three-week collaboration of brainstorming, research, and writing. What are the masks that we assume every day? Who is the real person under that facade? These are some of the questions being explored in this unique, original piece of theater. Please join us as the cast and crew tells their tales. They hope to open your hearts and minds to unfamiliar territory, as they explore the inner world of people whom we consider to be different from ourselves. Please note: Some material may not be appropriate for children younger than 13.

The cast includes Elizabeth Reed of Winchester; Amelia Bell of Lakeville; Addie Pates of Manchester, MA, Lai Penanhoat of Scituate, MA; Sarah Navias of Aspen, CO; Lilly Diamond of Higganum; Dhalia Tejada of Newark, NJ; Emma Barhydt of Greenwich; Mia McClain of Andover, NJ; and Lindsay Cronin of Danbury.
